Happy New Year !!

Hope everyones new year is off to a great start! Ours was until I decided I needed a 4 day vacation in the hospital. Probably should have picked somewhere better to go but my kidneys decided where I was going. I ended up having a very bad kidney infection and fevers for 5 days now. I have to say a huge THANK YOU to my SIL and MIL for taking care of our kids the whole time. They not only took care of the kids but also came and cleaned my house and did laundry for me. Kristin drove me to the hospital and even took my kids while my nephew was running a fever too. What a trooper! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I had sent Wes off to work the day I went in. I thought I could sleep off my pain and feel better. Nope, didn't happen. I told him to stay at work since there was nothing he could really do. He came home the 3rd day and decided that was way to long. He has also been so good to help with everything since I am still in a little pain.

I also want to thanks all my great friends and family who came to see me and bring me beautiful flowers. It means so much.

Next time I think I'll pick the Bahamas or somewhere similar.

Sounds like alot of fun! I didn't know anything about kidney infections, that is, until Taylor got one. It was horrible! She says it was the worst pain (by far) she has ever experienced. It is awful to be a husband and not be able to fix your wife's pain. It sounds like you have great in laws. I'm glad the pain is wearing off, and that Wes was able to make it home to be with you. One of the hardest decisions I deal with, is when Taylor gets sick: Am I a good husband for staying at home to take care of her? Or: Am I a good husband for going to work to take care of her? That's life...good w/ the bad :)

Sorry to hear about your infection. I grew up with in and out of the hopitals with kidney infections. I know how you feel. Let me know if you need anything, I would be glad to help out. Drink lots of water and cranberries are the best to get your body back in sync. Put a bag of cranberries in the freezer and eat a handful every day. Kind of sour, but it really works. Call me if you need anything.

Oh Malisa!! I'm so sorry. I've been wondering where you were at. Kidney pain is really bad... It takes awhile to get better too. (At least it did me) I'm so glad that you've had help with your kids. Great that Wes came home too:) Hope that you're starting to feel better. I too have learned, there are some things as moms we just can't, "sleep off."
