Bittersweet

OK this is going to a boring post to most of you, OK all of you. It is more of a journal cry for help. We decided to take Connor's Bink's away. It has been a full 24 without those darn things. He went to bed rather well last night so I thought it would keep getting better. Wes left to go to work today and maybe that is the reason why we are both having a hard time. Connor cried for almost 45 minutes when I put him down for his nap today, and another 30 minutes when I put him to bed tonight. The girls were 2 before we got rid of theirs but I was so sick of Connor's. He always had one in each hand and one in his month. He was such a Binki boy. He has stashes of them around the house. I would take them away and he would come walking out with 2 more. I moved his crib last night before I put him to bed and found 8 behind his bed and between the bumper pad and crib. I hope tomorrow is better. I can't cave in now. The hard part is done. I don't know why this is so hard on me with him. I guess because he is my last baby and I hate to see him sad.

Bluebell Cornmaze

This weekend we went up to the Bluebell corn maze. It is so much fun, the kids love it up there. They start talking about it months before it opens. They have a mini maze for kids, goats to feed, a cow train, a corn bin, a sand box, & a huge slide made out of PVC pipe. They also have a tractor and hay ride to take go to the "Pumpkin patch." You get to pick out your own pumpkins to buy & you can take as many as you want. They have every size you could imagine. Hannah picked out one for Connor since he was just walking around in it, it was about the size of a Ritz cracker. Madison picked out a giant one. It was a workout getting it back to the hay ride to get it back to the car. I think my SIL, MIL, Megan & I had just as much fun in the patch as the kids.

Sorry for the over load of pictures. I just can't decide which ones to post.

Lisa's Baby Shower

Heidi, Susan and I had a baby shower for one of our very best friends, Lisa. She is having her 4th little boy in November. She looks so good and is ready to have the baby. She got lots of fun gifts and we had lots of yummy food. Susan made her famous cheese ball, Heidi made fruit pizza, and I made pumpkin choc. chip cookies, and we had chicken salad sandwiches. Hogle Zoo, Cableas, & "Galoon"

Yes- I know most of you are thinking that I spelled "Lagoon" wrong but, Hannah has a new name for it and I think it will stick for a while. Kind of like the "Bikini Bread" a while back. We had a busy and fun weekend.

We started the weekend by meeting my mom at the Zoo. It was fun but there were so many people there. The weather was perfect, the crowds were not. They also had Radio Disney there. Every single monkey we saw, Connor would call it "Todd." Todd is my brother in law. It was so funny. We made sure we called Todd to let him know about that.

After the zoo we were off to "Rodigios" Brazilian steak house. The food there is to die for. If you haven't eaten there, you need to. We ate there right after it opened and I forgot how good it was. Then we headed out to Cabala's in Lehi. The kids love to go there, and of course, so does Wes. It is always an adventure there.

Today we went to "Galoon!" It has been so long since I have been there. The girls had a good time. Connor on the other hand did not. He was only happy about the last 45 minutes that we were there. The girls were so brave and tried a lot of the bigger rides, as long as they were tall enough. Hannah was mad when she wasn't tall enough.

All in all we had a get weekend, putting aside a few of Connor's tantrums and messiness. The kids are exhausted!

Four Eyes

Yes -Madison now has 4 eyes. She had to get reading glasses. I am hoping this helps her with her reading. She had on and off days for reading last year in school. It was really frustrating because one day she would read great, and the next she would read horibbly. She is a very smart girl, so I hope this helps get her back on track. I think she looks pretty cute, and she was so EXCITED.

I have been looking at pictures lately and realized I really don't have very many of the kiddos with mommy. Probably because I am the one who takes all the pictures. So here are a few that we took a few days ago.

Hannah would not lay down by us , so I kept cutting her out of the picture.

Connor is throwing a huge fit since he can't lay by mommy.

Now that I want kisses from him, he wants nothing to do with me.

Peach Cobbler

So tonight instead of doing my usual 30 minutes on the treadmill, I enjoyed this:

I love peach season! Thanks for the yummy recipe Dana!

Hannah's first day of preschool!

Hannah and Madison can't take pictures without making a few kissy faces!

Hannah started her first day of preschool today. She had to have her hair curled and wanted to look cute! When I droped her off, she didn't want me to come in. I thold her I was going to take a few pictures and then I would leave. When I picked her up, I asked how her day went and she said " It was fun, we were busy all day." I can't believe that my babies are growing up. She is such a big girl now and has been such a sweet heart lately. Love you lots Hannah!!

Spaghetti Sauce

Ok, so my mom came down this weekend and we have been canning spaghetti sauce. It is alot of work but it tastes so yummy. The work today consisted of cutting up 25 onions, peeling and pressing 12 heads of garlic, and peeling about 4 bushel of tomatoes. It took us ALL DAY LONG!!!!! About 10 hours to be exact!!

We made a total of 56 quarts of spahetti sauce. Holy Crap!!! That is alot of sauce. Good thing we only have to make it about every other year and we half everything to share.

We have had a great time today and tomorrow we are canning peaches, pears, and making pear jam. This is my favorite kind of jam there is.

This is the sauce cooking and tomatoes steaming so they peel easier.

Mom thinks she is tired but she is only SLACKING!! J/K

Oh, my aching back.

This is about 1/2 the finished work.

Hard workers!

The onions are totally burning my eyes. I could barely open them.

The culprits of my eyes on fire!

Peeling tomatoes.
