Debating

I am debating on whether or not to go private. I saw a thing on the news about protecting yourselves. I have found so many friends from high school by not going private. But now it is the right time to????? I have also found more friends that their blogs are set to private and I can't even say hi!!! I can't decide what to do. Did any one else see the same newscast or am I stressing to much over nothing?

I'm in the same boat. I read the article on KSL and now I'm not sure what to do either. I have found friends and so has Alan, but I also want to protect my family. If you do decide to go private, please include us!!!

I am totally with you, and have thought about setting mine to private from the beginning but haven't done it yet because I didn't want to make my parents and grandparents have to sign up for an account, although protecting yourself is of course the most important thing!

I feel the same way, although I didn't read the article, we are putting tons of personal info. about us and our kids on the world-wide internet. I feel bad because of all of the people that I've found too. Like Ivy, my parents & family wouldn't have accounts. Really, if something were to happen & some freak tried to find you I think that we really wish we would have. I think that I will in the next few weeks too. Especially with our husband situations.

I keep going back and fourth...I'm not sure why I debate it I mean if it means my families safety why hesitate? But then again I doubt some of my family is going to sign up? So I dont know! Let me know what you decide of course!

So here's my take. I have read and seen most of the same stuff...but how can we live our lives in fear? I have had more love and good come from blogging...I know that sounds dumb...but it's like having more family, everywhere...anyway...I guess I just refuse to live in fear. I myself think the world is more full of good then bad. I hope this doesn't make me sound like I don't care about my family's safety, because of course I do...but it is my personal decision. I am almost positive I will never go private...and lets face it...with all the computer savy people out there...who's to say they can't hack into your blog even if it is personal...you know. But if you do decide to go private, include us. Good luck with your decision.

I saw the same thing on the news and decided to set mine to private. It sucks, though, 'cause I've found old friends from high school who I never would have found if it wasn't public. The thing that scares me is that people can take your pictures without permission. I love blogging and I want to be able to find more people, but there are just too many weirdos out there. It's such a double edge sword. If you decide to go private, let me know & please add me as a reader. By the way, I read something on Lindsey's blog and I wanted to ask: Are you back in E-town again?
