I went with Madison on a field trip to Marble Knoll earlier this week. I doesn't look like much but on top of the hill, there are little "marbles" everywhere. I am not sure how they form but it was really fun. The school has been taking trips there ever since Wes was in school. They have found petrified sea turtle shells and alligator or crocodile teeth up there. It was a lot of fun to look for these. Madison loves to look for rocks. Maybe some day she will be an archaeologist.
This is only one part of the hill that we climbed, there were a few more like this little rock hill.

This one is for you Heidi! Deloy was hard at work!!
Pieces of the petrified turtle shell & petrified wood.

Marbles- there were all sizes and alot of them were broke in half.
We went arrowhead hunting a few days before with Wes and that was so fun too. Wes showed us all the signs to look for. Like where the dirt is still black from the fires and all the different rocks that have washed down from what used to be their fires. His family has been doing this for many years and have found a ton of arrowheads. Madison and I can't wait until we find our first one too. We found a bunch of chips that day but no full arrowheads.
Upon looking for the pictures from the field trip, it looks as though Hannah has
had my camera.....
