Today is the day.....

the big 3-0 has come! I can't believe that I am now 30! Good thing I don't feel thirty. I have been through alot the last 30 years and I am happy were it has landed me. I am looking forward to the next 30 years!!

Happy Birthday to me!!

I received this on email from a friend and I think it is so true!

THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning

Uphill... barefoot...

BOTH ways

Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up,
there was no way in heck I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a dang Utopia!

And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write
somebody a letter, with a pen!

Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our butts! No where was safe!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and messed it all up!
There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone.cause that's how we rolled dog?

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever!

And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off you're butt and walk over to the TV to change the channel! There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK
for cartoons, you spoiled little punks!
And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat
something up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted
five minutes back in 1980 or before!

Regards,
The over 30 Crowd

In need of suggestions!!!!!

Since we are getting ready to finally build our home, I wanted any suggestions from you.

There are so many things to pick from and of course they all say their product is the best, but I want to know what really takes the cake! Like what kind of coutertops really are the easiest to keep up on. I don't want any thing I have to seal once a year. I love the look of grantie but holy crap, it can be expensive.

What kind of tiles are easy to clean and still look great after awhile for bathrooms?

I have heard people say when they built or bought, they wish they would have picked out something different.

What kind of cabinets hold up to children banging them?

I want all your suggestions or comments. I can't wait to see them.

There is also so many things that are overrated. I don't want to spend a ton of money on something if I can apply that money somewhere else.

So please give us any suggestions you have!!!!!

Lesson in Chemistry

Today Hannah and I were driving down and road and she asked me how to make water. I told her that it kindof just makes itself.............minutes pass by and she says "mom, your wrong about water, it is made at the water factory."

So for those of you have ever wondered how to make water! Contact the water factory. They also deliver it to the stores. If you need water at your house, it is just in the sink or pipes.

What a character! She had been giving us lessons like these lately. All I can do is laugh.

Here is a little of what we have been up to lately. For some reason I am having a hard time getting back into blogging. We haven't done much so maybe that is why. Anyway....

Wes parents were gone a few weeks ago and we went up to feed all the animals. The kids have a blast doing this. Maybe because now papa has chickens and they love to go get the eggs. It is always exciting feeding the emu's. Connor is hilarious when he feeds them. He walks up very slowly then throws the bowl of corn at them. Madison has done it for so long that they do not bother her at all. And Hannah the princess, well, she doesn't really like any of it but getting the eggs. And thats if they are clean. She is very cautious!!

My dad also had a big birthday in February!!! He turned 50 this year! We weren't able to do to much for his birthday! I was extremely sick and he wasn't able to come home from work. So we celebrated a few weeks after and went to lunch with them at the Old Spaghetti Factory. My dad is so fun with my kids! He loves them so much! I have the best dad in the world!! Happy Birthday Dad! We love you lots!

We finally were able to get the boat on the lake! Wes has been up a few times but this is the first time we went with him. He checked the lake everyday, twice a day, for several weeks to see if the ice was starting to melt off. We sure had fun but it was cold. It was a nice day to start off then the horrible wind came up. The girls reeled in a fat trout and connor reeled in a nice one as well. I think we will wait for it to warm up a little before we head out to the lake again.

We have had a few nice days and the kids have loved being outside again. Connor found a "Hat" (Madison's bike helmet). And wore it for the rest of the day. He loved that thing. It was so funny!

Well now I will try to keep up on things better! I need to start being so lazy!!

One messy kid....

Does anyone else have children who eat like this? Seriously, can a child make a bigger mess. I didn't even take a picture of what was on the chair or the floor. This is just the table. And I think he could have eaten a full meal off of what was stuck to his body and clothes. Connor is one messy eater.

Catch up later!!

Ok, so I will have to play catch up later. I have a little story to tell...

I bought a little pink sony camera in August of 07. We went on vacation to Disney world in January 08. So while we were in WDW, I lost my little pink camera. I searched the hotel room, destroyed the suitcases, torn apart the couch in the hotel room. I was sick I had lost this camera. I loved it because it was little and I could pack in anywhere. Soooooo...Had another camera to use for awhile but it wasn't the best and Hannah finally dropped it for the last time and it busted in October 08. Finally talked wes into letting me get an early christmas present and bought a way nice SLR Nikon D60 camera. Got in just in time to take halloween pictures. Love that camera besides the fact that it is big. Still wish I had my little camera. :(

I was looking in my video camera case the other day for my extra battery and GUESS WHAT!!!! I found my little pink camera. So I have been taking pictures with it. Well now it has been so long since I have downloaded pictures off of it. I think I threw away the cord because I thought I had lost it. So now I have to find another cord to download my pictures. Big problem, I can't find the cord online anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions?? I have to go to SLC this weekend and I am going to try to find one.

So if you ever lose anything, DON"T throw away the cords, you just might find it over a year later.

I will play catch up as soon as I find a dang cord to download pictures!! Ha ha

We are finally better. I have just been to lazy to download new pictures and blog about them. I will get busy soon and get back to life!!

I pray we never get these illnesses again. This has been a very hard 2 months. We started out with my kidney infections in January, then Connor had pnemonia. Then we had about a week break. Then Madison had a bad virus with fevers of 102 for 1 1/2 weeks. In the middle of that, I got pnemonia and the same virus Madi had. So I was DOWN (and I mean DOWN) for about 3 weeks. Now Hannah has the virus but I don't think she had it as bad as Madi and I had it. Her fevers are sporatic. We all still have coughs but we are much better. Thanks for all the emails and comments wishing us better!!! We are slowly getting back to life!!

I will catch up hopefully this next week, maybe tomorrow!
